Austin Healey 3000 3000 MKll TRI CARB - 1962
Description
Features
For sale here is a superb 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MKII BT7, Finished in Ivory White with Red Leather interior this car started its life in the sunny climate of Jacksonville Florida. It was repatriated to our shores here in 1990. History shows that the car was owned by Captain R. A. Curtis from 1997 until he passed the car on to its current owner in 2021. Unfortunately, due to health and other issues the current owner has decided very reluctantly to sell the car even though he has poured his heart and soul and a great deal of time and money bringing the car up to the superb standard that it is today. The British Heritage Certificate shows the car as being originally Ivory with Red interior with centre change gear shift, wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen and Overdrive Gearbox. When the current owner purchased the car, the interior had been changed to Black. Eric set about putting the car back to original by replacing all the interior leather, carpets, door panels etc of which we have a receipt for the amount of £3,300. The records also show that the engine at some point in its life in the US had been changed to a 2600 cc unit probably from a Healey 100/6. Again, Eric set about putting it back to original and purchased an original 3000 engine and sent it to Cleasby Engines in Yorkshire for a complete overhaul. At the same time, it was decided to put the car back to what is believed to be its original Triple Carb set up, this is the usual spec
