Land Rover Series I 2.0 Petrol 88

Description
Features
It is with a heavy heart that I am having to sell my genuine 1958 88 Series 1 Landrover as an unfinished project,,I am an avid car collector but dont have the skills to retore them myself so I bought Primrose in 2018 for a full nut and bolt restoration by a good friend. Unfortunately, due to ill health he now cannot complete the project,,I have the full history of the vehicle including log book, tax discs and British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate which will all be passed to the new owner. This Series 1 88 Landrover is build number 1280 originally built for and used by the Ministry of Supply in Bicester. It was built on 21st January 1958 and delivered to the Ministry of Supply on 17th February 1958. It stayed with them until 1965 when it was sold and the new owner registered it for road use on 10th September 1965 in Birmingham. Since then it had 5 owners until I bought it in 2018. It is officially registered as a Historic Vehicle so is MOT and tax exempt,,I used it for a few months in 2018 and my son and I used it for some light off roading before we drove it to my friends workshop to begin its restoration. I have lot of pictures of what has been done so far and will try an list as much as possible below,,- Complete strip down,- Chassis blasted, repaired, undercoated and painted,- Bulkhead blasted, repaired and undercoated (yet to be painted),- Rear tub blasted, repaired, undercoated and painted,- 2 genuine new old stock front wings were sourced to replace the damaged originals,- Bonnet repaired,- Axles and leaf springs blasted, undercoated and painted,- New brake drums and shoes all round,- All galvanised parts stripped and re galvanised,,As far as we are aware the jobs left to do are as follows,,- Re fit engine, gearbox, steering, fuel tank and lines, brake lines,- Re wire (I was going to leave it original without indicators but you can add them if you want to),- Paint bonnet, doors, grill panel and bulkhead,- Plus 101 other little jobs as you can imagine,,Everything needed should be here including engine and gearbox (I think there may even be a spare gearbox that we have picked up) but you may need to source the odd part along the way,,I am more than willing to show anyone round the Landrover, what has been done and the parts we have. Feel free to bring an expert with you if you want to, we’ve nothing to hide, this is a genuine sale. We are located in Chorley, Lancashire,,Please no low ball offers. If I cant find anyone willing to take it on as a project Ill throw a dust sheet over it and forget about it for 20 years, it certainly wont go down in value,,Any questions please ask. I have plenty more photos of what has been done.
