Just taken in part-exchange is this 2006 Volkswagen Touran 7-seater. Registered at the end of May 2006 and finished in pale metallic blue with a contrasting charcoal grey interior, the car has covered 118,000 miles from new. Powered by a 1.6 litre petrol engine through a 5-speed manual gearbox, the performance is more than acceptable. Certainly I had no complaints driving it from Hereford back to Birmingham.... The car is in fair condition for its age. It was filthy dirty when we got it, but it's cleaned up OK. It has a few cosmetic dents and rust spots, but nothing obviously structurally wrong with it, it's missing a wheel trim and the bonnet looks to be a different shade of blue to the rest of the car. BUT, it is a 7-seater, it's Clean Air Zone / ULEZ compliant, it drives well and the radio works. It has obviously spent it's life providing families with relatively inexpensive transport. It'll probably need a few quid spending on it for the MOT, but beyond that it should have a good few years left in it yet. So think of it as the Ronseal of the automotive world - does exactly what it says on the tin. It's currently MOT'd until October, although we'll put a new ticket on it if we get the asking price.
